Playing Music On SeeMePlayMe

Playing a wav or music file is slightly different than using your microphone and requires the changing of your recording settings for Windows. Here's how to do it:

  • Double click the speaker icon in your taskbar at the bottom right corner of your screen. Or from your start menu go to all programs, accessories, entertainment, volume control.
  • On the "Volume Control" window that pops up, Click on "Options" and then "Properties".

  • Click the "Recording" option and click the "OK" button.

  • A window called "Recording Control" is now shown. You can change the 'source' of your audio by changing which 'checkbox' is checked.

You will probably notice "Mic" is checked. To change the source so that your music playing software will play through SeeMePlayMe, change the checkbox selection to "Mixer", "Wave" or "Stereo Mix".

  • Select the "Handsfree" mode for continuous hands free broadcast. This is not recomended without the use of headphones due to repeating echo.
  • You can improve your broadcast quality simply by selecting a higher transmit speed such as "DSL" from the scroll down menu.

Remember that while "Mixer", "Wave" or "Stereo Mix" is selected, you will not be able to talk through your microphone. Some members prefer to play music through a stereo located close to their computer. This will result in a poor broadcast of music. The prefered method is to select "Mixer" or "Wave" and to text chat while the music is playing.

Just remember to switch it back to "Mic" when/if you wish to talk on the microphone.
