Adjusting Your Microphone Settings

Setting up your microphone can be accomplished with just a few simple adjustments on your play control window. Here's how to do it:

  • Double click the speaker icon in your taskbar at the bottom right corner of your screen. Or from your start menu go to all programs, accessories, entertainment, volume control.
  • On the "Volume Control" window that pops up, Click on "Options" and then "Properties".

  • Click the "Recording" option and click the "OK" button. Take note that the 'Mute' box under the Microphone slider is checked to prevent you from hearing ambient noise or hearing yourself speak.

  • A window called "Recording Control" is now shown. You can change the 'source' of your audio by changing which 'checkbox' is checked.

Make sure the "Microphone" is selected or checked. You may wish to select the advanced tab at the bottom and add or remove the boost setting.

  • Select the "Handsfree" mode for continuous hands free broadcast. This is not recomended without the use of headphones due to repeating echo.
  • You can improve your broadcast quality simply by selecting a higher transmit speed such as "DSL" from the scroll down menu.
